What's New?

Sterling Sculptures is a Sculpture on Loan program designed to bring new and exciting artwork to beautify our community. The sculptures will change every 12 months. A jury of local artists and invested community members selects from a pool of applicants, allowing our community to display their work. These pieces are for sale during this time. The first two sculptures have transformed two vacant lots on Main Street into beautiful parks, complete with landscaping, thanks to the assistance of the City of Sterling Parks Department.

The Chamber of Commerce approached LOCAL in 2024 with an idea grown from neighboring business, Sweetly Vintage to paint a historical mural in the courtyard between their buildings. Artist Nate Layborn created a design in his signature style incorporating historical figures and a quote from the depot Station Master "They dreamed dreams and had visions, and they came true." LOCAL jumped on board and pledged $10,000 of the total $22,000 to support the movement to enrich the communities collection of public art. Sterling Urban Renewal Authority donated the remainder of the cost and the unveiling celebration on September 12th 2024
